Our LGBTQ+ Silver Charter Journey

This year, we embarked on the journey to achieving our Silver Level Charter from LGBT Youth Scotland. We’ve celebrated many commemorative days; helped to foster more understanding and acceptance within our school community; and gained a better insight into how we can best support the LGBTQ+ community both inside and outside of the school building.

We still have a long journey ahead of us, but our goal of making Inverurie Academy and the surrounding community a safe space for everyone will continue to drive us towards making a positive change.

In January 2025, we achieved our Silver Level Charter through LGBT Youth Scotland. While this is a great achievement, we are dedicated to continuing to make improvements throughout our school community for our students. Watch this space for future updates about our journey towards creating a more LGBTQ+ inclusive community.
