Work Place Wednesday

Thanks to all the work from our DYW team, we are now in a position to share the dates of our upcoming Workforce Wednesdays.

This year, the sessions will take place on Wednesday mornings during Period 2 (9.40-10.30am). 

The aim of these mornings is to allow pupils to meet with employers from industries/careers in which they have shown an interest in pursuing once they leave school. Not all S3s will attend every session! 

Each session usually has between 15-25 pupils. Some pupils may attend more than one event if they are undecided about their future careers. 

Currently planned for Early 2026:

Wed 14th Jan – “Police and Law” (with guests from Police Scotland and Aberdein Considine)

Wed 21st Jan – “Engineering and Architecture” (with guests from McWilliam Lippe Architects and Fairhurst Engineering)

Wed 28th Jan – “Trades” (with a guest from Morrison Construction)

Wed 4th Feb – “Armed Forces” (with guests from Navy and Army)

Wed 25th Feb – “Hair and Beauty” (with guests from NESCol)

Wed 18th March – “Accountancy” (with a guest from TaxAssist)

We are also still looking to secure guests for “Healthcare/NHS” , the “Land Based Sector” and the “I Don’t Knows”. We will update you about these in the New Year.
