Pupils should have demonstrated engagement in S2 with accounting topics such as Money Sense and Chill Room and shown clear proficiency in maths and numeracy generally..
Meeting the above is particularly important as this course does not provide an N4 level option.

In S2 October tracking, having secured:
Level 02.B - Some benchmarks achieved at L3 or better in Mathematics
Tell me some basic information about the course
In S3, the course covers units in Personal Finance (types of bank accounts, credit cards, shares, personal budgeting), Using Accounting and ICT (inventory, budgets, profit and loss, breakeven, expenses), Business Challenge (A team task with a new product to be designed, costed and marketed)
The course continues to develop skills in communicating essential financial information to various stakeholders and organisations. It combines the practical and theoretical aspects of learning related to accounting, allowing candidates to use information and communications technology (ICT) to complete tasks. The course has two main topics: Financial Accounting and Management Accounting.

How will I be assessed?
In S3, assessment will be on-going and based on practical tasks and theory assessments.
Current S4 pupils are assessed by an SQA exam and an assignment. Your teachers can update you on the details of these assessments in S4.
