People who have an interest in Engineering. This will develop your skills in problem solving, electronics, mechanics, structures and pneumatics. You will need a minimum level of numeracy (Working at Level in in your most recent report)

In 3a you will develop your skills in electronics, mechanisms, pneumatics, structures and computer control. You will also develop problem solving,
numeracy, communication, research and organisational skills.
Course Information s3(b) In this course you will develop a broad range of technological skills, including analysis, problem solving and design skills. You will look at key engineering concepts and processes and how to solve a variety of problems. You will also look at the impact of engineering on society and the environment. What Skills will I develop?
Technological skills in analysis, numeracy, problem solving, design skills, and communication
How will I be assessed?
The course assessment has two components totalling 160 marks: Component 1: question paper – worth 110 marks
Component 2: assignment – worth 50 marks. For the assignment component, you will be asked to analyse and design a solution to an engineering problem. Both the question paper and assignment component will be set and externally marked by the SQA.
