Who is this course for?
Students with a passion for film and television is essential. Due to the practical nature of the course, an interest in filming and editing is also advisable.

In S2 October tracking, having secured:
Level 02.A - A few benchmarks achieved at L3 or better in English
Tell me some basic information about the course
Introduction to different types of Media and the impact it has on the world, looking at advertising, feature film, television and newspapers. We will explore texts and begin to make our own.
In S4 pupils work towards a National qualification in Media, building, analysing and evaluating skills, producing texts and learning to independently plan and analyse media.
What Skills will I develop?
Development of analytical and evaluative skills as well as building on written and oral skills.
Introduction and development of core media skills including a focus on language, narrative, genre and much more.
How will I be assessed?
At N5, one exam paper on studied texts and unseen element (50%), assignment based on producing own text (50%). At N4, Analysing and Producing units plus Added Value Unit, drawing the skills together.
