People who want to find out about the world and their local area. People who like outdoor learning and who like to get out the classroom and learn new skills. People who have an interest in how the world works and key issues facing it.

In S2 October tracking, having secured:
Level 02.B - Some benchmarks achieved at L3 or better in Geography
Tell me some basic information about the course
During 3a, pupils will start with a Skills-based unit. They will reinforce and develop their map skills and undertake considerable fieldwork within the local area. They will then complete a unit called 'Mountain to Sea', where they will follow the River Don from source to mouth, finding out about a broad range of Geography along the way. Lastly, we complete a unit on Tourism.
In 3b, pupils will be starting the National Geography curriculum. They will start with a unit in 'Physical Geography' on Uk Weather Systems. In Human
Geography, they will start a unit on Urban Geography. They will then also start a 'Global Issues' unit on Climate Change.
What Skills will I develop?
Fieldwork skills, Map skills, data processing, collaboration, communication & creativity
How will I be assessed?
In S3, pupils will be assessed in a variety of ways, such as collaborative group tasks, presentations
and written assessments. They will be covering a wide range of skills and primarily 4th Level Benchmarks in the BGE curriculum.
Half way through S3 (3B)and into S4, pupils will start National Qualifications and assessments will take place at the end of topics.
If I was successful in this course, what qualifications could I go on and study?
Higher Geography, NPA Scottish Studies, L5 Travel and Tourism. College
